Merry Christmas, Everyone!

What a year 2012 has been!  After all, the world was about to end haha.  Feel free to check out my entry, "Memo: Doomsday Tomorrow!  Is That Pacific Standard Time?".  It's the article before this one.

Although it's not the typical gather-around-the tree-with-friends-and-family kind of day for mom and I, it's a very relaxing and enjoyable one.

This was the first year I got Christmas gifts, in a while.  Not that I ever expect them or get disappointed when I don't get anything, but it was a pleasant surprise.  I've learned to receive graciously, rather than my usual feelings of guilt (that crept up on me briefly before catching myself).  I may post up picts of them sometime, so please check back later, just in case.

To receive has been a lifelong lesson for me, since I do give generously to others, without expectations of anything in return.  However, if someone is going to give with love, it is only right that we accept with the same.

Life is a two-way street.  Such is how the universe operates.

Merry Christmas!  May it be a great day!

Memo: Doomsday Tomorrow! Is That Pacific Standard Time?

I got an email from my dad today talking about doomsday.  He should know what doomsday is like because he's in China, where it is already the 21st.  He was expressing how much he cares and to send his last holiday wishes.  Sounds like a great idea, right?  Why not build some good karma for yourself, just in case.

Today also, I made some calls for routine business and only one of my business partners from Austin, TX picked up.  We had a productive conversation.  However, I'm also thinking to myself, "Why haven't the other folks called back?  Or sent me that email they promised?".  I suppose it's all right.  After all, what's the point?  It's not like it's the end of the world....;-)

Below is a video clip that describes my sentiments exactly about the whole drama and lack of understanding about the linear Mayan calendar.

See y'all maƱana!

TGIF and Happy Holidays!

12-12-12

Today, there were so many posts and new coverage on this date.  Supposedly, this date is the last of its nature to appear in our lifetime.  The next one is about 88 years from now (factor in leap years and all). As we know, time is man made; therefore, to the cosmos, this date may mean nothing.  We give it value, or at least some of us do lol.  Hey, a lot of people got married today.  That's cool...well, at least for now.

If we could take days like these and treat them with a little more dignity, regardless of the date, we will appreciate our own lives more.  To appreciate the day is to appreciate our life, because we are aware we should.  That is our consciousness.  Without it, we would not understand what is.  That is what being alive means.  Being alive right here, right now is all we have for sure (well, sort of).  In any given split second, even in this moment, it can all be taken away.  That's what I mean.  But the concept overall is clear, hopefully.
