Farewell 2016: A Tale of Two Sundays

"I want it reported that I drowned in moonlight, strangled by my own bra."

-Carrie Fisher, from Wishful Drinking

2016: I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in feeling that this year has been one big emotional rollercoaster ride!

On one hand, there's been a tremendous effort to increase awareness for the need to heal our home, Earth.  Movies like "Before the Flood" and TV series like "Years of Living Dangerously" are becoming more mainstream than ever.  One of my favorites out now is "Mars" on NatGeo.  We have certainly expanded our minds to possibilities that were considered merely sci-fi not too long ago.

Then on the other, we had to say goodbye to many beloved public figures, like Muhammad Ali, David Bowie, Prince, Nancy Reagan and, this week, George Michael, Carrie Fisher and her mother Debbie Reynolds.

We also had more acts of violence and terror, as well as more acts of kindness, unity, spiritual growth and healing.  You're welcome to refer to my previous blog that I wrote in November as well.

We even had a Supermoon!  How cool was that?!

It gets more interesting.  Read on...

Then there was the election here in the US.  It reflects our nation's state of consciousness as a whole.  Of course, this is not without the collective influences of the world.  One could even go to the extent to say that it is a tipping point marker to where mankind will go from here.  Since everything happens for a reason, there is a reason for what happened to have happened, even if it is beyond our understanding as a human.

I, for one, was not happy with the results.  Even so, the negativity I experienced didn't penetrate me so deeply, as it would have only a few years ago.  I'm not saying I'm some type of guru, being above all the outcries people expressed thereafter.  I was just quite surprised I wasn't so completely consumed with outrage.  Perhaps it's the surrender in trying to control what I can't in order to make room in my heart for what I can.  After all, when was the last time a POTUS directly affected your life in a dramatic fashion?  And if they did, was it something you could have controlled?  I would say most likely not.

As we go forward to 2017, I have this strange intuition that there is an order to what is unfolding.  I would like to think that it is for the greater good.  Just hope the human race is part of that plan.  May The Force be with you, always.

11 11: Happy V-Day, etc.

I want to first of all thank the armed forces for their service to our country.  To protect our world is a tall order and is commendable.  They don't sleep all night, so that we may sleep all night.

It is said that we live in a time of extremes.  On one end of the spectrum, we have those that are destroying the planet, including mankind, either without mindfulness or with the intention to press their radical will upon others.  On the other end, there are those individuals who have now increased awareness, looking to heal themselves, the environment and humanity at large.

These people understand that we are all on this blue ball spinning in space, and that to destroy it or make it unpleasant for anyone or any living creature would be absolutely absurd.

More on this in my next blog...

Mr. T Minus 10 Days: Leaving Level 42

To The Easter Bunny & All April Fools:

This year has been a great learning experience.  Oh yeah, it's been fun too.  Not the same kind of fun like when I traveled to Europe, SF and Miami, in addition to whitewater rafting and surfing in California.  The enjoyment of personal growth and moving forward with my life is what I'm talking about.

I will say, there's been challenges and dark nights of the soul as well.  Letting go of old baggage and toxic people isn't easy.  I still have some ways to go with this though.  All in all, progress makes it definitely worthwhile, I feel.  I may post some picts here and a video or two.  I can say I am happy to go through and trust the process of life.

Thank you, Level 42!  It's been real!  :-)

And now, please enjoy a music video from a group by the same name below:

80 Years Young! Happy Birthday, Mom! :-)

Today, we celebrate Mom's 80th birthday!

She has always been someone that I could lean on during my low times.  In childhood, I suffered from feelings of inadequacy, and thus was often alienated from the other kids at school.  Even during these moments, no matter how bad I was doing emotionally, I knew I could take comfort in my mom's compassion and understanding.

When our dad left us, Mom stepped in to play the role of both parents for my brother, Rudy and I.  It wasn't easy.  Though many times there was strong conflict, our mom remained grounded for the both of us.  Our family dynamics is far from perfect.  No one knows what will happen in the future.  What I can say, for sure, is that this day was a good day.  For that, I am grateful.

Thank you, Mom.  I love you.  :-)

Happy New Year of the Red Monkey 2016!

Happy New Year of the Red Monkey, Everyone! :) #LunarNewYear #monkey #success #fortune #luck #thatway #yesoverthere #lol

May this year be truly a year of realized possibilities!

The Lunar New Year is a good time to have that "gut check" on our New Year resolutions. If we're off track, let's have another fresh start and not dwell on wasted time (that would be a waste of time in itself!).

Late Post: Happy New Year 2016!

Late Post: #Goals for #2016.
After a full day of planning, this is what I have so far.  It was quite mentality exhausting, though I feel it's worth it!   Will work on it some more today and tomorrow.  #happynewyear #abundance #plans #direction #excited #thankyou
